Community Guidelines
Whispa lets you write first to the people you’re most compatible with, without waiting for a mutual like. That only works if everyone uses it with care. These guidelines apply everywhere you meet people through Whispa: profiles, chats, Magic Sync and when you meet in real life. They sit alongside our Terms of Use.
In short: be yourself, be kind, take no for an answer, ask before you share, and tell us when something feels wrong.
1. Be real
- Use the name you actually go by.
- Use recent photos of yourself where your face is clearly visible. No AI-generated or heavily edited photos, and no photos of other people pretending to be you.
- Be honest about your age, where you are and what you’re looking for.
- One person, one account. Don’t share your account or create duplicates.
Your compatibility is built from your answers and your birth details. Honest answers mean better matches for you and for everyone else.
2. Write first, with respect
Writing first is the point of Whispa, and it comes with responsibility.
- A Magic Sync card or a Sign is an invitation to talk, not a promise that someone will reply.
- If someone doesn’t answer, or says they’re not interested, let it go. Repeated messages after a clear “no” are harassment.
- Open with something real. Comments about someone’s body or explicit messages are never an icebreaker.
3. Ask before you share
On Whispa, no one can send you photos or videos until you accept their media request. Respect that on both sides:
- Only send media that the other person has agreed to receive.
- Never send unsolicited sexual content.
- Never save, screenshot, share or threaten to share someone’s private photos, videos or messages.
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time, online and in person.
4. Kindness, no harassment
We don’t tolerate bullying, threats, intimidation, blackmail or manipulation, whether it’s aimed at another member or at our team. This includes insults, shaming someone’s looks, and wishing or encouraging harm.
5. Everyone is welcome
Whispa is for people of every race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age and ability. Hate speech, slurs, harmful stereotypes and content that dehumanizes people are not allowed. Reporting someone only because of who they are is also a violation.
6. Dating, friends or networking
People come to Whispa for different reasons: long-term, something casual, new friends, sports partners, travel buddies or networking. Respect the goal someone has chosen. If they’re here for friends, don’t push for a date.
7. Keep it safe in real life
When a chat turns into a meetup, the same rules apply offline. For your own safety:
- Meet in a public place for the first few times.
- Tell a friend where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
- Arrange your own way there and back.
- Trust your gut. It’s fine to leave at any point.
Violence, stalking, sexual assault and exploitation are never tolerated and may be reported to the authorities.
8. Protect your privacy and theirs
- Don’t post or share anyone’s personal details, chats or photos without their permission.
- Take your time before sharing your home address, workplace or financial details.
- Never ask other members for money or financial information.
9. No scams, no selling
Whispa is for meeting people, not for selling to them. Don’t use your profile or chats to advertise, promote other accounts, recruit or fundraise. Romance scams, requests for money or gifts, and fake interest for personal gain are strictly prohibited.
Never send money to someone you met on Whispa, however convincing the story. If someone asks, report them.
10. 18+ only
You must be at least 18 to use Whispa. Accounts of anyone under 18 are removed. Photos of children on their own are not allowed on profiles.
11. Keep content appropriate
No nudity, sexually explicit content, violent or graphic images, or content that promotes harm, in photos, names, bios or messages. Don’t use Whispa to buy, sell or promote illegal drugs or anything else illegal.
12. Look after yourself
It’s okay to talk about mental health. Content that promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or substance abuse is not allowed. If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
Reporting
If someone breaks these guidelines, block or report them from their profile or your chat, or email support@whispa.com. Reports are confidential. We don’t tell the reported person who reported them unless the law requires it. Please don’t file false reports.
If you’re in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
What happens next
Depending on how serious the violation is, we may warn you, remove content, limit features, or suspend or permanently ban your account. Serious or repeated violations lead to a permanent ban. We may act on behavior outside Whispa when it affects the safety of our members, and we cooperate with law enforcement when required.
If you think we made a mistake, email support@whispa.com and we’ll take another look.
